On my southeast spring golf voyage, I decided I needed an off day. This meant scheduling a lesson with a golf instructor that is voted in top young golf instructors, Morgan Hale. This was honestly the best thing I have done in a few years. I have always avoided instruction that uses any kind of technology besides video for the fear of trying to force everyone into a “cookie cutter” swing. I’m a fool for being so close minded about this. The Swing Catalyst mat showed how bad that my pivot had become. I made several adjustments last year to be able to play through the hip injury. She was able to make adjustments to my setup and I was able to turn back and through the swing perfectly. I was given a set of 3 points to work on to reteach myself the correct setup and pivot. It was such a great experience, I’m looking at flights back to Mobile for another lesson. In the 3 rounds since, I would of shot scores in the 70’s if it wasn’t for the rusty chipping and greenside bunkers that I just need some warm weather to practice. If you’re around Mobile, go and see her. If you aren’t, find a golf instructor that is knowledgeable and uses technology for an extra set of eyes.
