2023 Goals

After listening to multiple podcasts from the top golf instructors and sports psychologists, I’m reminded about how important it is to go into the season with a plan. After injuring my sacroiliac joint training last December and taking 6 months to realize it wasn’t a pulled muscle and get treatment, I decided the best thing for me was to actually take the winter off and relax. Don’t think about golf or training. While my Dr. may not be happy about me putting weight on from putting in 10k steps in about 3 months, I am refreshed physically and mentally. I’m actually excited to start my season this coming weekend. On to these goals.

Priority #1: Turning my driver into a weapon. I want to make sure that my drives constantly carry 250 yards.

  • Following the overspeed training from Superspeed Golf
  • Taking a lesson with a teacher that uses technology to ensure that my swing is optimal
  • A driver fitting conducted by a highly rated fitter. Besides using Trackman another must is doing this outdoors to ensure its a trajectory that looks good

Priority #2: Short game!

  • Improve bump & run
  • Practice with pressure. Create games that make me stay in the moment and elevate the heart rate because something is on the line

Priority #3: Ball striking

  • Work on solid contact
  • Being able to hit manage distances inside 150 yards

The stats I will use that will help me track my success:

  • 9 FIR (Fairways in Regulation)
  • 9 GIR (Greens in Regulation)
  • 5 1 putts
  • Times I made par from missing the green
